Choosing
Choosing a hot tub: seats, footprint and what comes with it
How the four Courtyard hot tubs differ on seating, size and what is included — using only the figures we publish for each model.
A hot tub is bought once and lived with for years, and most of the decision comes down to three things you can check before you ever get in one: how many people it seats, how much of the yard it takes, and what arrives with it. Everything below is drawn from the figures we publish for each model — where we have not published something, this guide says so rather than filling the gap.
Seats, and the lounger question
Our hot tubs seat six to eight. The Hawaii and Hawaii II both seat five with a full-length lounger; the Key West seats seven with dedicated foot-massager jets; the Monaco seats eight and has no lounger at all.
That last difference matters more than the seat count. A lounger is one person lying flat, which is the most comfortable seat in any tub and the one people argue over — but it occupies the floor space of roughly two upright seats. If you mostly soak alone or as a pair, the lounger is the better buy. If you host, the eight upright seats win.
| Model | Seating | Dimensions | Jets | Pumps |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hawaii | 5 seats + 1 lounger | 83.5" × 83.5" × 35" | 54 stainless steel jets | Two 4 hp pumps + one circulation pump |
| Hawaii II | 5 seats + 1 lounger | 84.6" × 84.6" × 35.4" | 56 stainless steel jets | Two 4 hp pumps |
| Monaco | 8 seats, no lounger | 90" × 90" | 56 stainless steel jets | Two 4 hp pumps + circulation pump |
| Key West | 7 seats | 90.6" × 90.6" × 38.2" | 46 stainless steel jets, adjustable | 3 hp dual-speed pump + 3 hp pump |
Footprint, and getting it into the yard
All four hot tubs are between seven and seven and a half feet across. That is small enough that the usual constraint is not the tub, it is the route to where it will sit — a side gate, a corner, a step, an overhanging branch. Measure the narrowest point of that route before you measure the pad.
What comes with the tub
Every hot tub here arrives with a cover, a step or steps, and a starter chemical kit, and every one includes delivery. Beyond that the inclusions differ by model — a cover lifter on some, not on others — so each model's page lists exactly what we send with it.
One more option: the plug n' play
If the electrical work is the part you are hesitating over, look at the Plug N' Plays range. The Capri seats seven in a smaller shell. One caution worth stating plainly: we have not published the electrical service for it, and for a plug n' play the supply is a real part of the buying decision — ask us to confirm it in writing before you order, and have your own licensed electrician confirm what your property can provide.
Financing is available through Financeit if you would rather spread the cost — the terms and a payment estimator are on the financing page.
